ISC customers often have a training component to their support contract and should contact their account representative to discuss options.
To meet the needs of other users, we have teamed up with Men&Mice to jointly develop and present hands-on, highly rated classes on DNS/BIND, DHCP, DNSSEC, Kea, and IPv6. Past participants have come from ccTLDs, national governments, major enterprises, and smaller institutions. And for each course, there is an optional exam included for certifications accredited by ISC and Men&Mice.
Men&Mice has recently announced its 2022 training program of public classes. Most of them are offered online, while a few will be in-person, in Europe. We encourage our users to take a look:
This offers a concise introduction to running a BIND 9 domain name server. The course covers all modern protocol features such as EDNS, DNSSEC, DNS Cookies, and much more. Unix/Linux knowledge required.
This is an advanced DNS and BIND course, built on the DNS & BIND Jump Start course. Participants are required to complete that course before starting this more-advanced one.
This is Men&Mice’s most popular course and is ideal for anyone starting out. It is usually attended by those with minimal previous DNS experience, and by administrators with limited BIND experience. Unix/Linux knowledge required.
This is a classroom-style DNSSEC workshop course with lecture and hands-on labs. It is designed for network and system admin veterans who need to know how to deploy DNSSEC for their organization.
KEA DHCP is the newer open source DHCP server from ISC. This class is an introduction to the KEA DHCP software on Unix and Linux systems, including topics about DHCPv4 and DHCPv6.
These dates and times may change; please refer to Men&Mice’s website for the latest information.
The Training Certification Program is accredited by ISC and Men&Mice, which is world-renowned. It gives administrators an advantage in their business, as Men&Mice certifications are recognized as industry-standard. Anyone is welcome to sit certification exams for the various topics.
